For those of you who don't know, I'm currently a senior illustration and art history major at the Maryland Institute College of Art in B'more Maryland which means it's senior thesis project year! Last night while I was searching for a reference photo of crabs (the animal, ehhehehe) and I came across this MONSTROSITY for the first time!

AaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! It could have been because it was 5 in the morning after staying up all night or the fact that GIANT TREE CRABS are in fact the things that nightmares are made of but I was nauseous and traumatized all morning, and could not partake of delicious nutella in class this morning. On the other hand, this photo might be the best crash diet ever.

On a less traumatic note (I hope), I thought I would share with you this ridiculous drawing I did in my notes for my Egyptian art history class.

It's supposed to be a sketch of the mortuary statue of Pharaoh Menkaure and his wife, Khamerernebty. Instead I drew this. I'm so glad I go to art school to learn to draw.

Dis mah blarg!

Well. Look what we have here. I have a fancy new website with a fancy link to a blog in there so I figured I should have a blog connected to that link. What profound pearls of wisdom I think I'm going to impart upon the masses is beyond my scope of knowledge right now, but I suppose a first entry is a start.

I'll start by thanking you for visiting my humble blog. Thank you! And if it's appropriate, I'll thank you again for previously visiting my website! Thanks again! If you didn't visit my website and were just casually searching emmaisapirate.blogspot.com then I will take the time now to coerce.. er.. I, uh.. mean encourage you to visit my website! It's pretty simple, so just to make it harder I'm going to write the address in webdings! Ahahahahha!! Please take the time to visit www.emmaisapirate.com.*

Later on, I hope to have hilarious stories, hilarious links, hilarious pictures, and perhaps very in depth discussions of very serious issues that affect us all. But if I were you, I would look forward to the hilarity more so than my other babbling.

On a different note, one of the reasons I'm setting up this blog and corresponding website now is that two of my closest friends, Ariyana Suvarnasuddhi and Annie Wu, and I will be at Baltimore Comic-Con this weekend!! HoooooooooooOOOOOORRRAAAAAaaayyyyy!! So if you're savvy with this odd ritual we call "scrambling-to-get-ourselves-together-without-stabbing-ourselves-or-someone-else-while-questioning-our-artistic-merit-and-crying-ourselves-to-sleep-each-night," or "Comic-con" in the more common vernacular, or if you're in the B'more area this weekend looking for something wacky to do, come on over to the convention center at the inner harbor for the freakshow!! It's a wild good time for comic obsessed children of all ages! While you're at it, come on by our booth! It will be in artist's alley labelled The Society of the Okay.
